01 Design guidance

Palette

Use the site's purple and magenta pair as the primary colours, on a soft lavender ground instead of flat white.

Typography

Set headlines in Playfair Display with one italic magenta phrase, and body text in Poppins. Bundle the font files so every device shows the same typeface.

Shape

Use a 20px card radius, full-pill buttons, numbered badges and the heart motif from the website.

04 Design inspiration from

The new website

We took the look from truefriendmatrimony.com: lavender ground, purple and magenta, serif headlines with one italic phrase, pill buttons, and the real True Friend logo.

The TrueFriend app proposed in January 2026

We kept the structure: the five tabs (Home, Matches, Search, Inbox, Settings) and the existing screens from that proposal.

Our web app, API and admin panel

We checked what members can really do: fields, filters, plan limits, interest and photo requests. We added the screens that cover them, such as contact requests, plan renewal and personal matchmaking.

The known-issues list

We used it to avoid repeating known problems, such as filters that did nothing.

05 Competitors we compared

Christian Matrimony

Home page opened in a browser, plus its App Store listing and user complaints. Photo-first page, faith promise, simple sign-up.

Tamil Matrimony

Home page opened in a browser, plus store listing and complaints. Assisted Service and store-visit options, mobile-verified promise.

Bharat Matrimony

Home page opened in a browser, plus store listing, news and complaints. Same template as Tamil, with a language bar and the Prime verified tier.

All three belong to Matrimony.com, so they share one template and plan names. We saw their public pages and store listings. We did not log in, so their signed-in screens and app flows are not compared yet.

06 Good features we took from them

07 Where our app goes further

Faith-first search

Denomination, born again, faith practice and Jesus Calls partner are real filters. Tamil and Bharat Matrimony are generic across religions.

Every filter in one place

One sheet with a category list, selected counts and a live result count, so members can see a filter took effect. This answers the common "filters ignored" complaint.

Remaining contacts shown

The contact dialog shows how many views are left. This answers the "paid but could not see contact" complaint.

Help without pressure

Personal matchmaking is a call-back at a time the member picks, with a status tracker. Competitors are criticised for pushy sales calls.

Clear search unlock

A checklist explains why search is locked and what to add, with a 60% line on the meter.
